Great Weekend - lots to smile about : )

We went to Maine for the weekend and had a wonderful time. It was so relaxing just to get away from it all. The trip down was not so nice as we had to wait until DH was off work at 4:30 to head out. By this time the rain had started and it was a miserable drive. We stopped in Bangor to have a bite to eat and shop at Target of course. Then on to Scarborough we went. We usually stay there as it is central to all of our shopping spots. DH loves Cabela's which is just 5 minutes from the hotel. The hotel was cheap $75.00 American per night with an indoor pool and breakfast included. Once we braved the terrible windy, pouring rain, dark as anything trip down from Bangor Friday night we woke up to a sunny Saturday morning. We dropped DH off at Cabela's and us girls went to AC Moore, Target and Walmart. We headed to Kittery for the afternoon and evening. Old Navy was a huge hit for both the girls and DH but I couldn't seem to find anything for me but that was okay. All in all it was a great weekend. On the way home we stopped in Lincoln at Walmart to kill some time as we had not hit our full 48hr mark and I fluked onto Ashlyn's Alphabet Cricut cartridge that was on clearance for $25 so I picked that right up.

Moments that made me smile...
  1. watching the kids play in the pool
  2. watching the mini fashion show when the girls tried on the heaps of clothing at Old Navy
  3. listening to the laughter as the girls played with their new ZuZu pets (As Ally kept telling me "Mama they say they are just like having a real hampster without the mess, and if they die you just have to change the batteries")
  4. listening to Ally sing along to the music in the car whether it be Carrie Underwood or John Denver
  5. our passport pictures (they have to be the worst things on earth)
  6. finding 3 more 5x7 Pioneer photo albums that match the other 2 we got last year for our Disney Trip photos (now to put the photos in them )

A dreamy day.

Well today was another great day. We went for a drive this morning and Daddy has his dreamy time looking at a new toy he wanted and then off to the RV shops we went. We have been tenting for the past two summers and we are wanting to move up to a tent trailer. Our first mistake was looking at the nice big trailers first!! It was worth it all to see the girls faces, it was very exciting. Then we went to the next spot and looked at a pop up tent trailor and that was not so exciting. We should have started with the pop ups because they were nice too but not as nice as the other ones of course. So we all got to dream a little today : )

The major stumbling block is that we need to buy a new vehicle that can haul a trailor before we can buy a new trailer. Unless we win the lottery we will probably be tenting again this year but maybe we will have a new SUV.

A girl can always dream.

My happy moments today:
  1. The huge smiles on the girls faces when they saw the bunk beds in the first trailer and the shower in the bathroom.
  2. Being able to enjoy another beautiful sunny day.

Good Friday

And what a great day it has been : ) We have spent the whole day outside enjoying that beautiful sunshine.

I had many happy moments today here are a few:
  1. Watching Mikey and Jess play catch with a set of those velcro paddles and a ball this morning in the back yard
  2. Jessie's big smile when she caught 15 in a row!
  3. Sitting in my lawn chair on the front lawn finishing "Handle With Care" by Jody Picoult
  4. Going to the nature trail for a walk and meeting friends from the daycare there
  5. While at the park another little girl from the daycare arrived and all the kids yelled her name in unison when they saw her. She has Down Syndrome and that smile when she heard her name was awesome!
  6. Listening to Jess explain how Easter wasn't all about the Easter Bunny and chocolate but it was about Jesus dying for us and rising again!
